BLDUP Update 05/28/19

With summer kicking off and the year nearly half over let’s take a look at some of the most anticipated projects set to open before years end.

Encore Boston Harbor

Sales talks may have fizzled but Encore Boston Harbor’s President Robert DeSalvio told the Massachusetts Gaming Commission on May 22nd they will be ready to open on June 23rd. Before the opening, there will be three test days in which operators demonstrate that all gaming systems are working properly, and to give Wynn a chance to solve any problems that might pop up. Construction has been ongoing since summer 2016 and the massive project is sure to draw crowds eager to check out the 210,000 square feet of gaming space and new waterfront park.

Hub on Causeway Residential Tower

Hub50House, the 440-unit, 38-story residential tower at The Hub on Causeway is set to welcome its first residents later this year. Not only will residents have access to a first-class suite of amenities along with direct connection the MBTA they will be offered exclusive membership in the HubClub. The HubClub includes membership to ‘Rafters’, a whole new level of entertainment in TD Garden’s Boston Garden Society opening for the 2019/20 season along with additional VIP experiences at Big Night Live and ArcLight Cinema.

EchelonSeaport

EchelonSeaport’s first building, 133 Seaport, a Regent Collection is set to open by years end. The 255 condo residences offer Boston Harbor and Seaport park views, along with generous private stepped terraces, and elegant interiors. Extensive outdoor amenities will include a waterfall pool, lounge and dining areas. We also can’t wait to see the line-up set to fill out the 125,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space within the project.

Jefferson at Malden Center

Jefferson at Malden Center is a unique transit-oriented development that will include 320 apartments, 45,000 square feet of office space that will become the new Malden City Hall, and more than 22,500 square feet of street retail. This project will help to revitalize downtown Malden and will offer residents “big city amenities with a neighborhood vibe”. Just 15 from Boston via the Orange Line, Jefferson at Malden Center should be a hit with renters when it opens later this summer.

145 Broadway in Kendall Square

The unique design of 145 Broadway certainly helps it stand out in busy Kendall Square. The 19-story tower will be home to Akamai Technologies who have leased 100% of the office space. Interior fit-out is ongoing now with Akamai expected to move in this year.

Clippership Wharf

East Boston’s Clippership Wharf will include 398 apartments and 80 condominiums all overlooking Boston Harbor and the Boston Skyline (we’ve visited the project site and the views are amazing!) Apartments are now leasing and the first group of condos at Slip65 sold out in just 8 weeks. Resident amenities will include indoor and outdoor gathering areas and fitness and social club. This East Boston project is definitely a game changer for the neighborhood.

Cambria Hotel South Boston

Set to open in June this new 159 room boutique hotel sits directly across from the Broadway MBTA station and offers easy access to Downtown Boston, The Seaport, and the South End. Hotel amenities will include a fitness center along with meeting and conference rooms.
