The Residences at 566 Update 12/13/19

566 Columbus Ave. Approved by BPDA

The Boston Planning Board has approved the proposed development project at 566 Columbus Avenue that will replace The Harriett Tubman House. Speaking on behalf of United South End Settlements, the current owner of the property, Maicharia Z. Weir Lytle,  President, and CEO discussed the difficult decision to sell the building. She expressed to the board that because of the high costs of maintaining the deteriorating building it is not financially feasible for USES to stay in this location. The sale will allow them to continue to provide services to the community.

The new project from New Boston Ventures will feature 66 condo units including 11 affordable artist live/work spaces along with 5,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and 42 parking spaces.
