490 residential apartments approved for construction in Medford along Mystic River


Banker and Tradesman reports that the City of Medford has approved Equity One's 562,508 square foot mixed-use development project at 61 Locust Street in Medford for construction. The project site is located along the Mystic River at the site of a former Shaw's supermarket. The project will contain 490 residential apartments with 12,000 square feet of amenity space and 4,000 square feet of flex space. Apartments will range from 440 to 1,300 square feet in size with studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom configurations. 10% of apartments will be designated affordable.


A 3,000 square foot Eastern Bank branch will be constructed at ground level. Three new buildings will be built at 61 Locust Street ranging from 4 to 6 stories tall.  A total of 781 parking spaces will be built on site, with 735 spaces designated for residents.
