60 Cross Street East Update 06/30/16

New developer for 75-unit residential building on East Somerville Stop and Shop site


Young Construction, a local real estate developer and general contractor, acquired a section of the East Somerville Stop and Shop's surface parking lot last Friday, June 24th, 2016 for $4.25 million as recorded in the Middlesex South Registry of Deeds. The section acquired is a 61,738 square foot parcel known as 60-70 East Cross Street. A three-story, 75-unit residential building designed by Cube3 Studio is approved for construction on the parcel. Young Construction has indicated on its website that construction of the project is starting.

Criterion Development Partners, the parcel's seller, guided the 75-unit building through approval. An initial deed was also recorded Friday transferring ownership of the parcel from The Stop and Shop Supermarket Company to Criterion Development Partners for $2.78 million as recorded in the Middlesex South Registry of Deeds.
