Vertical construction begins at 88 Ames Street in Kendall Square
The first vertical concrete and steel columns have been installed as part of the first floor of 88 Ames Street, an upcoming 22-story residential and retail building in the heart of Kendall Square. Excavation of the building’s basement is complete; a 1-story deep sheet pile wall with temporary bracing is installed to support the basement throughout construction. Upon completion, 88 Ames Street will feature 280 apartment residences and 16,000 square feet of retail at the site of a former parking garage entrance.
