Divine Design Center, Boston’s premier interior design-build firm, has opened a stunning new waterfront showroom at 2 Battery Wharf in the North End. The showroom allows prospective developers and home owners to experience Divine’s unique approach firsthand and gain a full understanding of how Divine can improve and revitalize interior spaces. We spoke with Magued Barsoum, Owner of Divine Design Center, about the firm’s vision behind opening a showroom in Boston:

Why did you choose to open your showroom on the North End Waterfront?

Besides looking outside our windows and seeing the beautiful Boston Harbor landscape, we want to be where our customers live and work. The waterfront, especially in the summer, is bustling with people going out for al fresco drinks and dinner at one of the area’s many outdoor patios. We chose to position ourselves in a walkable, attractive location where people will pass by our windows and stop to take a look.

What is your showroom’s design philosophy?

Our showroom is meant to express what Divine Design is all about: sleek, simple, European language that can transform a living space into a space you take pride in. We have many design concepts on hand to present featuring diverse styles and products, all embodying a simple, sleek appeal.

What makes Divine Design Center unique is our multifaceted user base, which caters to a variety of living styles. Our showroom is designed to appeal to people of all ages, including empty nesters moving from larger suburban homes to smaller urban apartments and young professionals looking to optimize their space in Boston’s many new residential developments.

What trends do you see currently emerging in the design space?

People seek straightforward designs without extensive details that maximize the utility of available space. Desirable modern spaces embody simple, serene aesthetics with functional, sleek appliances. Adhering to our European design scope, we use traditional color palettes and natural materials such as wood, leather and metal. We carry only the highest quality European brands such as Team 7, Rolf Benz, Doca and Leicht.
