Foundation of Cambridge Crossing’s first science and technology building nearing completion


The foundation of 250 North Street, the first science and technology building to unveil at the 45-acre, 4.5-million-square-foot Cambridge Crossing development in East Cambridge, is nearing completion. A 3,500-yard mat slab concrete pour took place at the bottom of the foundation yesterday (Saturday, November 4th), marking the completion of foundation excavation and the beginning of vertical construction. Following completion of the building’s three-level underground parking structure, which will contain 348 vehicle parking spaces, construction of 250 North Street’s 11-story superstructure will begin. Completion of 250 North Street is expected in the second quarter of 2019, as well as additional retail structures totaling 15,000 square feet. The new buildings, which will front NorthPoint Common, will be the first phase of Cambridge Crossing. The following is a photograph of the foundation of 250 North Street:
