BLDUP Update 04/09/19

Below are BLDUP's most active* Boston-area new construction multifamily buildings as of March 2019. All of these buildings are either approved, under construction or recently completed. Each building contains either apartments or condominiums; a number of buildings are mixed-use and contain retail space.

1. The Hub on Causeway

Bulfinch Triangle - Boston

Projected Opening: Phase One Now Open

The Hub on Causeway is a 1.87 million square foot mixed-use development featuring three towers with retail, office, hotel, and residential uses. The Hub on Causeway will be constructed in three phases. Completion of Phase One of The Hub on Causeway is expected in late 2018. Phase Two will consist of a 38-story residential tower with approximately 440 units and a 10-story citizenM hotel tower with approximately 260 rooms. 2. Assembly Row Block 8

Assembly Row - Somerville, MA

Projected Opening: 2021

Assembly Row Block 8 is an upcoming mixed-use building featuring 500 new residences and approximately 26,500 square feet of restaurant and retail space. Multiple amenities will be located on-site for residents, including a 4th-floor courtyard with a pool & private patios and a rooftop outdoor terrace. 3. 75 Morrissey Boulevard

Dorchester - Boston, MA

Projected Opening: TBD

The early plans, for 75 Morrissey Boulevard, which have not been filed with city officials, show a 23-story residential tower over 3,800 square feet of retail and a 26-story tower over 7,600 square feet of retail. Multi-story parking garages would sit beneath each building, for a parking ratio of about 0.5 to the total unit count, which Binette said seemed “reasonable given the trends” toward using transit and reduced driving. 4. North Quincy MBTA Development

North Quincy - Quincy, MA

Projected Opening: 2020

North Quincy

The upcoming mixed-use development on a 6.77-acre MBTA-owned surface parking lot at the North Quincy Red Line station. The development will construct 610 apartment residences, 50,000 square feet of commercial/retail space and 1,600 parking spaces, replacing 852 existing parking spaces. The redevelopment of this site at a transit station will revitalize and transform an existing commuter parking lot into a hub of activity with a large retail anchor, bustling multimodal station, and vibrant residential development. 5. 7INK by Ollie

South End -  Boston

Projected Opening: 2022

The approved project located in Boston’s South End neighborhood, calls for a 14-story residential building containing 250 shared suites and micro-studios. Developed by National Development and co-living and micro-housing specialist Ollie, 7INK by Ollie would be Boston’s first major co-living development, emphasizing communal living. The building would provide a full range of services, unique community engagements and extraordinary shared amenity spaces. Learn more >>>

6. Radius Apartments

Allston - Boston, MA

Projected Opening: 2019

The upcoming mixed-use development with an expected opening in 2019 featuring 132 apartment residences and 5,000 square feet of ground-floor retail. Residences at Radius will include 53 studios, 43 1-bedrooms, 16 1-bedroom + dens, and 20 2-bedrooms. Resident amenities will include a rooftop common room, fitness center, and an outdoor deck. 7. The Heights at Haverhill

Haverhill, MA

Projected Opening: 2021

The Heights at Haverhill is an upcoming luxury, mixed-use development in downtown Haverhill that will serve as a catalyst for future development in the city. The prime location, downtown, and adjacent to the Merrimack River, will provide an upscale lifestyle and urban design for its residential and retail tenants. 8.  One Dalton

Back Bay - Boston

Projected Opening: March 2019

One Dalton will consist of 712,500 square feet of residential, hotel and retail space. One Dalton's upper floors will contain 180 private luxury condominium residences. Underneath will be a Four Seasons luxury hotel with 215 rooms. Building amenities will include a lap pool, a fitness center, a salon with manicure, pedicure and hair styling services, private yoga and pilates studio, a golf simulator room with a wet bar and a private theater room, and more. 9.  EchelonSeaport

Seaport District - Boston

Projected Opening: Late 2019

EchelonSeaport will be comprised of three mixed-use towers containing 1.3 million square feet across 3.5-acres in the Seaport District. 717 residences and 125,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space will be built at EchelonSeaport. Two of the EchelonSeaport towers will contain 447 luxury condominium residences, and one tower will contain 270 luxury apartment residences. Resident amenities at EchelonSeaport will include two signature outdoor pools, an indoor pool, expansive sun decks, engaging courtyards, and oversized private terraces. Learn more >>>

10. NEMA Boston

Seaport District - Boston, MA

Projected Opening: Fall 2019

NEMA Boston is a 22-story mixed-use tower featuring 414 apartment residences ranging from "micro" innovation units to three-bedrooms sustainably designed to achieve LEED certification.  NEMA Boston has been designed to reflect the Seaport's industrial heritage with interiors will featuring raw steel features and stone floors.
