March's Top New-Construction Multifamily Buildings in Boston

Below are BLDUP's most active* Boston-area new-construction multifamily buildings as of March 2018. All these buildings are either approved, under construction, or recently completed. Each building contains either apartments or condominiums; a number of buildings also contain ground-floor retail space.

1. Lantera

125 Guest Street, Brighton, Boston, MA

Opens Mid 2018

Lantera is an upcoming 17-story mixed-use building featuring 295 apartment residences and 16,400 square feet of retail space. Lantera will bring 24/7 residential presence to Brighton’s new Boston Landing development, which upon completion will feature 80,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space in addition to Class A office and athletic space, a hotel and the official practice facilities of the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics. 2. Penniman on the Park

Opens Fall 2018

Upcoming new-construction residential building featuring 36 condominium residences located steps to Allston's Union Square and the Boston Landing development. Residences will be approximately 1,000 square feet in size with starting prices of approximately $500,000; Penniman on the Park will include four penthouse residences. 3. 399 Congress

399 Congress Street, Seaport District, Boston, MA

Opens in 2019

Upcoming 22-story mixed-use tower featuring 414 apartment residences ranging from innovation units to three-bedrooms. Resident amenities at 399 Congress will include a top-floor common space featuring a lounge area, a game room, a media room and a fitness center.

4. 370-380 Harrison Ave

370-380 Harrison Ave, South End, Boston, MA

Opens in 2020

Upcoming 14-story, 356,500 square foot mixed-use building that will contain approximately 273 residential units, including 172 rental apartments and 101 ownership condominiums, and approximately 8,500 square feet of ground-floor retail. Resident amenities at 370-380 Harrison Avenue will include upper-level roof decks with outdoor social space and plantings. 55 residences at 370-380 Harrison Avenue will be designated affordable, including 52 apartments and three condominiums. 5. One Dalton

One Dalton Street, Back Bay, Boston, MA

Opens Winter 2018

One Dalton will be the tallest residential tower in New England at 740 feet and 61 stories tall and will consist of 712,500 square feet of residential, hotel and retail space. One Dalton's upper floors will contain 180 private luxury condominium residences. Underneath will be a Four Seasons luxury hotel with 215 rooms. Learn more >>>



6. SOBO Place

55 West 5th Street, South Boston, Boston, MA

Project Approved

Proposed six-story mixed-use building featuring 50 apartment residences and approximately 1,485 square feet of ground-floor retail space located steps from the Broadway MBTA Red Line station. The building would include seven affordable and two middle-income apartments, with amenities including a common roof deck with grills. An underground parking garage would contain 44 vehicle spaces. 7. South Bay Town Center

101 Allstate Road, Dorchester, Boston, MA

Opens Summer 2018

South Bay Town Center is a 720,000 square foot mixed-use development project opening in 2018 that will transform a 10-acre section of the existing South Bay Center shopping mall in Dorchester. The project will include approximately 475 residential units, 120,000 square feet of retail space, a 60,000 square foot cinema and a 130-room hotel. A total of five new buildings will be built. South Bay Town Center will be pedestrian-oriented, with active ground-floor uses and open spaces. Three parking garages will be built along with a surface lot and street parking. Learn more >>>



8. 345 Harrison

345 Harrison Avenue, South End, Boston, MA

Opens Early 2018

345 Harrison is a mixed-use development project opening in early 2018 that will consist of two new 14-story buildings totaling approximately 535,900 square feet of new space. Approximately 585 rental residential apartments will be built at 345 Harrison, along with up to 40,000 square feet of ground-floor retail including a 10,000-square-foot CVS Pharmacy and the Shore Leave tiki bar and restaurant. Resident amenities will include a 13th floor Sky Lounge with sweeping skyline views, a resort-style pool, and a fully-equipped fitness center. 9. 40 Mount Hood Road

40 Mount Hood Road, Brighton, Boston, MA

Under Official Review

Proposed five-to-seven-story, 163,000-square-foot residential development featuring 178 residences, including 64 apartments and 114 condominiums. Residences would include studios, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms, and three-bedrooms. Nine two-story, ground-level townhouse condominiums would be constructed along Egremont Road. 13% of residences would be designated affordable. Learn more >>>

7 Burroughs Street, Jamaica Plain, Boston, MA
