Pipefitters Association proposes new 70,000-square-foot Dorchester headquarters
The Pipefitters Association Local Union 537 proposes to construct a new four-story, 70,000-square-foot headquarters and training facility at 40 Enterprise Street in Dorchester, next to the 720,000-square-foot South Bay Town Center mixed-use development. The Pipefitters' existing headquarters, which consists of two buildings dating back to 1880 and 1964, would be demolished to make way for the proposed building. Construction of the proposed building is anticipated to commence in the 3rd quarter of 2017, with completion expected by the 3rd quarter of 2018. The Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA) is now reviewing the Pipefitters' proposed project.
