Plans Revealed for the "Blueway"
Since purchasing the Boston Harbor Garage in 2007, the Chiofaro Company has been working toward developing an almost 600 foot tower on the site. After gaining state approval earlier this year, the company plans to seek city approval this summer and has released new renderings of “The Blueway”. These new renderings show the busy plaza that will sit at the base of the tower and connect the waterfront to Boston’s “Greenway”.
“The Blueway” will be a key part of this much debated project as Chiofaro hopes it will allay concerns about the tower cutting off access to the public waterfront. With legal challenges pending from the Harbor Tower’s trustees and The Conservation Law Foundation, an environmental advocacy group, it remains to be seen when and if this project will get off the ground.
