Suffolk Construction Expansion Update 10/31/17

Suffolk Construction cuts ribbon on Roxbury headquarters expansion

Suffolk Construction cut the ribbon last week on a $22 million, 38,000-square-foot addition to its’ Roxbury headquarters, the first phase of an expansion that will invest $60 million in the neighborhood. The addition’s ribbon cutting ceremony, held Wednesday, October 25th, was conducted using interactive, digital technology, featuring digital scissors that cut a red ribbon projected across three widescreen televisions, in lieu of a traditional physical ribbon. At the addition’s groundbreaking last September, Suffolk Construction used virtual reality headsets in lieu of shovels and dirt.

Suffolk Construction’s new addition features an auditorium, collaborative workspace, a new cafeteria, a salon, a massage room, a fitness and wellness center, new conference rooms, a ground-floor outdoor patio and a second-floor outdoor terrace. The addition also features a new Smart Lab, which will be used to identify, test and scale transformative new construction technologies. The next phase of Suffolk Construction’s expansion will be a full renovation of the interior of its’ existing offices, located adjacent to the addition. Suffolk Construction is currently building future Boston landmarks such as the $2.4 billion, 3-million-square-foot Wynn Boston Harbor casino and 61-story, 740-foot-tall One Dalton, New England’s future tallest residential building. The following is a video of the addition’s ribbon cutting ceremony:
