About Copley Place Tower

52-story, 625 foot tall tower approved for construction atop existing air rights decking over the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90). Simon Property Group, the tower's developer, has put the tower on hold citing rapidly rising construction costs and concerns about oversupply of luxury housing. Work will continue on associated improvements to existing retail space and construction of a new Southwest Corridor entrance to the Copley Place Mall; these improvements are scheduled for completion in Summer 2017.


The Copley Place Tower would expand the existing Copley Place Mall, constructing 542 residential units, 60,000 square feet of new restaurant/retail space and a 54,000 square foot addition to the existing Neiman Marcus store. The Copley Place Tower would contain 421 apartments and 121 condominiums; condominiums would be located on the 38th floor and above. The following are renderings of the Copley Place Tower:
