The retail space will feature a neighborhood market managed by Asian food market company H Mart. The transit-oriented site near the redline will feature just 23 parking spaces.

Former Downtown Crossing department store transformed into 27 luxury apartments 3MJ Realty has completed its’ transformation of the historic Conrad’s department store, located on Winter Street in the heart of Downtown Crossing, into 27 luxurious apartment residences. Dubbed The Conrad, the new building features 2, 3 and 4-bedroom residences with large floor plans, allowing larger families to take residence in Downtown Boston. The building’s historic stone facade has been fully restored, and apartments feature high ceilings, period details such as exposed brick walls and the latest luxury finishes. “Although there have been a number of new residential buildings constructed in the downtown and Seaport neighborhoods in recent years, there remains a dearth of three and four-bedroom units,” said Morris Naggar, principal of 3MJ Realty. “The Conrad addresses this shortage, and combined with the architectural splendor of the original Conrad’s building, we expect to achieve full occupancy very quickly.”

Site work in preparation for construction of the 10 Essex Street building's foundation is now underway. Construction financing for 10 Essex Street was arranged by NAI Hunneman.
