Brooklyn Community Housing and Services (BCHS) was founded in 1978 by a group of clergy and concerned citizens from Downtown Brooklyn, who were alarmed by the growing number of individuals with a mental illness that were sleeping on the street and seeking help from local parishes.
Today BCHS is committed to ending homelessness in Brooklyn. We provide safe and clean supportive housing each year for more than 1,000 formerly homeless and at-risk women, children, and men.
