Demo Underway for Redevelopment of Notre Dame Ed Center in South Boston Demo has kicked off of the Notre Dame de Namur Center along Old Colony Ave in South Boston. The new six-story development will feature 49 units on the upper floors, 17% of which will be designated affordable. Additionally, 9,500 square feet of first-floor space will be donated back to the adult education nonprofit.

Building Permit Issued for Notre Dame Ed Center Project A building permit has been issued for the upcoming project at 200 Old Colony Avenue in South Boston near Andrew Square. The project calls for a new 6-story building to feature 49 residential units along with 9,500 square feet of space on the first-floor to be donated to the sisters of Notre Dame de Namur (original owners of the property) to use for adult education. An at grade parking garage will also be included in the project to hold 31 vehicles.

Notre Dame Ed Center approval will bring 49 residential units and educational space to South BostonThe Notre Dame Ed Center project at 200-204 Old Colony Ave will construct a six-story, mixed-use building with 49 residential rental units, of which eight will be income-restricted. In addition, the project will include educational space for the NDEC, approximately 31 off-street vehicle parking spaces, and bicycle storage.The 49 residential units are anticipated to consist of seven studio units, 2 one-bedroom units, and 16 two-bedroom units. The project proposal also includes a $20,000 contribution to support local non-profit organizations that provide substance abuse and recovery services, educational opportunities for local community members, and support activities for those in the community that may have developmental disabilities or physical challenges.

Plans Filed With the BPDA for Proposed Mixed-Use BuildingPatrick Mahoney, of Charlestown-based, All Saints Development, has filed plans with the BDPA for the proposed mixed-use building at 200 Old Colony Ave in South Boston.The proposed building would be a six-story structure, with one- to three-bedroom units on the top five floors and at least 26 garage parking spaces. Seventeen percent of the units would be designated as affordable. The developer would donate the 9,500 square-feet of first-floor space to the adult education nonprofit that currently uses the building.

All Saints Development LLC has agreed to buy the Notre Dame Education Center property at 200–204 Old Colony Ave. for undisclosed terms and would donate the 9,500 square feet of first-floor space to the adult education nonprofit. The center, which had been renting its current two-story brick building, purchased it for $4.5 million in August when its landlord put it up for sale.
