The building features 82 modern condo homes ranging in size from 1 through 3 bedrooms. The ground floor of the project includes a wide range of services for both residents and neighbors including a Planet Fitness, bakery & café, bank, and dental and doctor offices.

Chevron Partners Proposes Renovation/Addition to 727 Mass Ave
Chevron Partners has submitted plans to the City of Cambridge for the renovation and addition to the former Gas & Light Building on Mass. Ave. Renovations to the building originally constructed in 1912, will increase and improve access to ground-floor retail space on Massachusetts Avenue, improve office space, and create a new elegant, sophisticated and intimate 37-room boutique hotel to serve and reinforce the diversity and vibrancy of Central Square.

Brookfield Properties & New England Development Named New Master Developers for Union Point
Brookfield Properties in partnership with New England Development have been named the new master developer for Union Point in Weymouth. The group will be the 4th master developer for the nearly 1500 acre site. The decision comes months after LStar was terminated from the project in February 2019. Long term plans for the site call for nearly 4,000 housing units, up to 6 million square feet of commercial space, plus ample open space.

Construction Nearly Complete for Vita JP: Just 16 Modern Condos Remaining
Along Washington Street in JP, just a few blocks from Forest Hills, the new modern condo building, Vita, is wrapping up construction. BLDUP recently got a sneak peek inside the project with Lara Rosenburgh of Back Bay Development. The 82 residences at Vita, range in size from 1 through 3 bedrooms and offer custom cabinetry, quartz countertops, sleek baths along with large windows and ample natural light. The top floor corner units even offer an amazing Boston view. Rosenburgh tells BLDUP only 16 units remain available in the project, and they are just waiting on gas install to start closings.
Along with the stylish and comfortable residences we also had a chance to check out the spacious roof deck with adjacent lounge, sure to be a favorite spot for residents most of the year. The building also includes garage parking plus a pet spa and concierge service as additional amenities. The ground floor commercial/retail space at Vita is fully leased and will include a Planet Fitness (residents received a 2-year complimentary membership), Third Cliff Bakery & Café, The Cooperative Bank, Pure Dental, and Beth Israel Deaconess Health Care. When complete in early 2020 Vita will surely bring new "life" to JP.

Facade work is also ongoing with masonry in place for the ground floor which will be home to a Planet Fitness. Vita JP will feature 82 luxury condos, garage parking, and a roof deck amenity space for residents. Units are expected to be ready for occupancy this fall.

Washington Capital Retains Tocci For Union Point

Washington Capital Management, Inc., on behalf of one or more investment management clients, has retained Tocci Building Corporation to provide development support services for Union Point. The property is the 1400 acre redevelopment of the South Weymouth Naval Air Station formerly known as Southfield. Tocci will assist Washington Capital with land use documentation and selection of a new Master Developer. Services include liaison with the Southfield Redevelopment Authority and landowner responsibilities. Tocci was the former Program Manager for Union Point through 2017 and provided a broad range of planning and construction services.

The concrete core is in place with wood and steel framing rising for Vita JP. The exterior of VITA is designed to create an urban townhouse image above a brick retail base with large glass storefronts. The corner is defined by a tower element that projects out and angles slightly to define the entry. The project will include 82 condominium homes along with first floor retail. Resident amenities will include garage parking, bike storage, and a spacious roof deck with grills and a fire pit.Construction is set to be complete this summer.
