The apartment unit mix consists of thirty-five One-Bedroom apartments and ten Two-Bedroom apartments. There will be a ten (10) space ground floor garage. There will be 13% Affordable Housing use for this project. The proposed project will abut an existing three-story office and commercial building.

Construction financing secured for 20-unit apartment development in East Boston’s Maverick Square Maverick Shipyard Apartments, a 20-unit apartment development located at 202 Maverick Street in East Boston’s Maverick Square, is set to break ground following developer Newman Properties’ securing of $7.78 million in construction financing through East Boston Savings Bank. The development will be located steps from the East Boston Greenway, the MBTA Blue Line and the East Boston Waterfront, and will include one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, including two penthouses, as well as 20 underground parking spaces. Three apartments at the building will be designated affordable.

Switch from apartments to condominiums proposed for 70 Bremen Street mixed-use development in East Boston 70 Bremen Development Partners LLC, developer of the 70 Bremen Street mixed-use building in East Boston, proposes to switch the building's 32-unit residential component from rental apartments to ownership condominiums. The proposed switch follows the recent approval of increased ground-floor retail space at 70 Bremen Street to 1,028 square feet from 703, as well as the recent proposal to switch the nearby 135 Bremen Street mixed-use development, developed by 135 Bremen Street LLC, from apartments to condos as well. The East Boston condominium market has seen high demand in recent months, with the 80-unit Slip65 waterfront condominiums recently reaching the 50%-sold benchmark in just 36 hours and achieving record East Boston prices. Condominiums at Slip65 are now under agreement for prices ranging from $700- to over $1200 per square foot, some for sums over $1.5 million. Construction of 70 Bremen Street is nearly complete, with brick exterior finishes nearly fully installed and exterior finish panel installation underway. Exterior finishing underway at 40 Fisher Avenue, upcoming Mission Hill apartments Windows have been fully installed across 40 Fisher Avenue’s facade, and the building is fully weatherproofed. Fastening systems are now being installed along the facade in order to prepare for installation of clapboard exterior finish panels. 40 Fisher Avenue will feature 15 one, two and three-bedroom apartment residences located in Mission Hill steps to the Longwood Medical Area and the MBTA Green and Orange Lines. 1440 Commonwealth Avenue

37 new apartments proposed across from Green Line in BrightonDeveloper Yan Schechter proposes to construct a new 7-story building at 1440 Commonwealth Avenue in Brighton across from the MBTA Green Line which would feature 37 rental apartment residences. The building would replace an existing single-story retail building and would also contain 3 ground-floor commercial spaces. Construction of 1440 Commonwealth Avenue is expected to commence in Fall 2017, with expected completion in Spring 2019. Schechter has filed plans for the proposed building with the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA). These plans are now under official review.


70 Bremen Street

Facade nearing completion at 70 Bremen Street Brick finishes and finish siding have been installed along large sections of the facade of East Boston’s upcoming 70 Bremen Street apartment building. The building’s water resistant barrier and windows have been fully installed along the facade. Interior fit out work is underway. 70 Bremen Street is anticipated to open in 2017 and will feature 32 residential units with ground-floor retail space. Maverick Shipyard Apartments in East Boston’s Maverick Square approved for construction The Boston Redevelopment Authority approved Maverick Shipyard Apartments in East Boston’s Maverick Square for construction at last Thursday’s board meeting. Developed by Newman Properties of Brookline, the $6 million Maverick Shipyard Apartments will feature 20 residential condominiums including two penthouses. Three condominiums will be designated affordable. The project now requires Zoning Board of Appeals approval to proceed with construction. Since the project's Project Notification Form (PNF) filing, Maverick Shipyard Apartments' residential unit count has decreased by three; 23 units were originally proposed.
