Final Units Set To Open on December 15th, 2019 at J Malden Center J Malden Center is a unique transit-oriented mixed-use development that includes 320 residential apartments, 45,000 square feet of office space that will become the new Malden City Hall, and more than 22,500 square feet of street retail.  First units are now available with the rest of the apartments expected to open in mid-December. The property features a single-story industrial building totaling 44,723 square feet. The asset was built in 1972 and sits a short distance from Route 62 and Route 128.

J Malden Center Expects to Welcome First Residents by End of August Finishing touches are wrapping up on Malden's newest luxury apartment community, J Malden Center. The 320 unit project is now leasing with first move-ins planned for the end of August. Units range in size from 484 square foot studios through two bed/2 baths at over 1300 square feet. J Malden Center also features 22,500 square feet of retail space and earlier this month the first two tenants, Landsmith and Soul City Yoga, were announced. Landsmith is a locally-owned gourmet coffee shop and cafe while Soul City Yoga offers yoga, sculpting, and barre classes.

CityView at Longoowd Refinanced for $52.05 Million After being acquired for $180 million this past June, CityView at Longwood as been refinanced via LaSalle Investment Management for $52.05 million. To keep up with the recent development in the area, planned renovations include a a new common area on the penthouse level that will feature more than 8,000 square feet of lounge space, a community kitchen, fitness center and an indoor/outdoor roof deck. Additional new amenities will include a pet spa and resident storage space. Unit renovations will include the additions of granite countertops, updated appliances, new cabinets, sophisticated light fixtures, new flooring and tile backsplashes.

Facade Install Well Underway for Jefferson at Malden Center The transit-oriented development, Jefferson at Malden Center, is moving forward with facade install taking place and interior work underway. This mixed-use project will include 320 residential apartments, 45,000 square feet of office space that will become the new Malden City Hall, and more than 22,500 square feet of street retail. Resident amenities within the project will include 9,000 square feet of indoor amenity space, including a fitness center, a yoga room, a solarium, a club lounge, conference space, and gaming areas. Outside will be over 21,000 square feet of space including two amenity decks.  One amenity deck will contain a pool, pergolas and cabanas, a fire pit, an outdoor gaming area, an outdoor kitchen, and a lawn for yoga and other outdoor activities. The second amenity deck will offer a fire pit and seating area for residents to sit and enjoy the remarkable views of the Boston skyline. The three buildings within the project are connected via a sky bridge and also include a 330-space ground-level parking garage. First units at Jefferson at Malden Center are expected to welcome residents later this year.

Skybridge in Place for Jefferson at Malden Center Framing is well underway and the sky bridge to connect the complex is now in place at Jefferson at Malden Center.  The development includes 3 buildings to feature 320 apartments along with 30,000 square-feet of common/amenity space. Residents will have access to a fitness center, conference space, outdoor pool, and roof deck with Boston views. The project also includes 22,500 square-feet of ground-floor retail and a 45,000-square-foot office space that will serve as Malden's new City Hall. Construction is expected to be complete in Fall 2019.

Construction Continues on Transformative Jefferson at Malden Center DevelopmentBoston-based builder Callahan Construction Managers, joining forces with CBT Architects and Jefferson Apartment Group, are building a massive mixed-use development that will transform Malden Center, replacing the city's former government center with three new buildings oriented about a walkable, 21st-century streetscape. Jefferson at Malden Center will feature 320 market-rate apartment residences, more than 22,500 square feet of ground-floor retail and a 45,000-square-foot office space that will serve as Malden's new City Hall. The future complex will reconnect Pleasant Street to Commercial and Florence Streets for the first time since the former City Hall's construction in the early 1970s, helping restore Malden Center's walkability, creating new public parking and improving access to the train station.Current construction is ongoing on all three buildings comprising the complex. In the North building, roof truss installation is complete, as is 1st-floor fireproofing installations. Interior and exterior pre-sheetrock wall installation is ongoing, as well as plumbing, electrical and mechanical installations. Additional construction includes exterior sheathing waterproofing installation and sixth-floor wall panels. In the South building, floor truss installation is wrapping up with floor wall panels installation to follow. Slab on deck placements are currently ongoing for levels. Underground plumbing and electrical backfill will be complete this week. In the Northeast Building, structural steel installation is ongoing and should be completed in mid-May. Level 1 slab on deck placement occurred the first week of May.

Work begins on transformative Malden Center mixed-use development Demolition has begun to make way for Jefferson at Malden Center, a $120 million development that will replace former government buildings with three new mixed-use buildings and reconnect Malden Center through a pedestrian streetscape. Malden’s former city hall and police station, as well as the former First Church of Malden, are now being demolished, clearing 3.2 acres for Jefferson at Malden Center’s construction. The development will restore the connection of Pleasant Street, one of Malden’s main thoroughfares, to Commercial and Florence Streets and the Malden Center train station. Pleasant Street has been divided into two by City Hall and closed to through traffic since the early 1970s, when the building was built at Pleasant Street’s center facing the train station.Demolition work will continue through this Summer, after which foundation work for Jefferson at Malden Center will begin. The development is expected to open by Fall 2019. Jefferson at Malden Center will feature 320 market-rate apartment residences, over 22,500 square feet of ground-floor retail and a 45,000-square-foot office space that will serve as Malden's new City Hall.
