840 Lorimer Street Update 06/23/22

10-Story Mixed-Use Approved in Greenpoint

A 10-story, mixed-use development, proposed for 840 Lorimer Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, has just been approved by the NYC Mayor's Office. The green light comes roughly a year and a half after Zucker Enterprises LLC submitted an application requesting zoning map and text amendments.

Developed by Shabsi Parnes, with the help of Equity Environmental Engineering, the building will have  residential units. Approximately 19 of these will be permanently dedicated to affordable housing. The development will also have square feet of retail, and square feet of office space. Plans additionally call for an enclosed parking garage, with  spaces, spanning the cellar and parts of the ground floor.

Designed by architect, Richard Bienenfeld, the structure is set to stand feet tall and total square feet. The applicant owns approximately 15,000 square feet of land, but with the approval of these zoning amendments, land from three neighboring parcels will be combined to facilitate the development site.
