13-Story Mixed-Use Proposal Under Review in Crown Heights
Coming as the first step of the public review process, the Community Board is now evaluating an application proposing a 13-story, mixed-use development, at 73-99 Empire Boulevard in Brooklyn's Crown Heights neighborhood. Submitted by developer, , the application (filed under the name "Empire Blvd Holdings LLC") requests a zoning map amendment and a zoning text amendment in order to facilitate the project.
The proposed building would contain rental apartments, offered in studio and one to three-bedroom configurations. Approximately 86 of these units would be dedicated to affordable housing. Plans also call for retail space on the bottom three floors (including a 23,043 square foot supermarket), and an underground parking garage, with enough room for vehicles.
Designed by , the structure would stand feet tall and total square feet altogether.
The project site spans square feet and has frontages on Empire Boulevard, McKeever Place, and Sullivan Place. If the proposal is approved, a pair of single-story, commercial buildings, would have to be demolished in order to make way for the new development.
