Widett Circle Update 11/09/17

20-acre Widett Circle site in South Boston offered for sale

Three years after the failed Boston 2024 Olympics bid shed light upon Widett Circle as one of Boston’s key development sites, the 20-acre property is now listed for sale. The two dozen meat and seafood wholesalers who have owned Widett Circle and worked there for nearly 50 years are ready to sell and move on, and have enlisted brokers HFF and Transwestern to sell the property. Widett Circle is sandwiched between South Boston and the South End, two of Boston’s hottest real estate markets, and is expected to start a fierce bidding war given its’ significant development potential. With about 30 acres of city-owned parcels located adjacent to the site, there is potential for an approximately 50-acre development at Widett Circle.
