20 Exchange Place Trades for $370M
A historic, 57-story, residential tower, known as "Twenty Exchange", and located at 20 Exchange Place in Manhattan's Financial District, has just been sold for $370 million. The structure was purchased by The Dermot Company, from the previous owner, DTH Capital.
Designed by Cross & Cross, and completed in 1931, the 741-foot tall, 730,234-square-foot building, was originally known as the "City Bank-Farmers Trust Company Building" and used as office space.
In three phases, spanning between 2006 and 2015, the building was converted for residential use and now contains 767 rental apartments. Tenant amenities include a resident lounge, a fitness center, an on-site valet, and an outdoor terrace.
20 Exchange Place was designated a New York City Landmark on June 25th, 1996. On February 20th, 2007, the building was designated a contributing property to the Wall Street Historic District (a recognized U.S. Historic District).
