200 Unit Development Proposed for Pawtucket Hospital

Lockwood Development Partners has closed on a purchase of Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, RI. Memorial Development, LLC - a subsidiary of Lockwood - purchased the complex from The Memorial Hospital nonprofit corporation for $250,000. 

Lockwood proposes to redevelop the vacant hospital campus into 200 residential units for veterans.

"We will be converting this closed hospital into Senior Disabled U.S. Veteran’s housing properties." Lockwood said in a statement. "This program has been designed to focus on accommodating U.S. Veterans with a need for long-term housing that will include: senior assisted living, full-service nursing, memory care, i.e.; Dementia & Alzheimer’s, PTSD, and education programs with job placement."

The 390,000 SF development will include a healthcare facility for therapy, social services, and a career training program. The total cost of the redevelopment is $70,000,000.
