21-Story Mixed-Use Tower Near Mirror Lake Gains Approval

The St. Petersburg City Council, meeting as the Community Redevelopment Agency, has approved the plans for a new mixed-use development near Mirror Lake in downtown St. Petersburg. Developer Gravel Road Partners submitted the plans for the 21-story tower that will feature 200 apartments, 10,843 square feet of commercial space and a 264-space parking garage. Located on the southwest edge of the Mirror Lake neighborhood, the development will also include and open space and potentially a covered plaza on the northeast side as a buffer between the development and the Unitarian Universalist Church of St. Petersburg. The open space will also provide a pedestrian link between Arlington Avenue North and 1st Avenue North. The project also includes 214 long-term bicycle parking spaces. The site encompasses three parcels, which were acquired by Gravel Road for $3.2 million in March 2022, 699 1st Avenue N, 685 1st Avenue N., and 684 Arlington Avenue N. The buildings on the sites would be demolished.
