321 Units Proposed for Former Brookland Bowling Alley
Plans have been proposed with the DC's Historic Preservation Office for a 321-unit development to be built around historic former Brookland bowling alley building.
Plans state that "a handsome yet understated new building around it" and that "the proposed new building’s architectural language is defined by a contemporary interpretation of Art Deco design principles in reference to the existing building."
The new development will feature a pool and an outdoor amenity space on the roof of the existing bowling alley building. Plans also propose a new public retail plaza at the corner of 10th Street NE and Michigan Avenue NE.
