475 new residences break ground at South Bay Town Center in Dorchester
Two new buildings featuring 475 residences have broken ground at the 720,000-square-foot South Bay Town Center mixed-use development in Dorchester. Initial site work for a 45,000-square-foot addition to the existing Holiday Inn Express hotel on site is underway as well. A 602-space precast concrete parking garage is nearing completion at South Bay Town Center, and interior and exterior finishing are underway at the development’s new AMC movie theater. The 10-acre South Bay Town Center is expected to open in 2018 and will feature approximately 475 residential units, 120,000 square feet of retail space, a 60,000 square foot cinema and a 130-room hotel, all oriented about an active pedestrian streetscape.
