54 residential units proposed in Allston’s Union Square

Boston Real Estate Collaborative (BREC) proposes to construct 54 apartment and condominium residences at 44 North Beacon Street in Allston’s Union Square, the second proposed development in the neighborhood this month. The 53,800-square-foot building would contain 38 apartments and 16 condominiums, with 35 garage parking spaces located on site. As part of the project, a new public courtyard with plantings and art installations would be constructed along North Beacon Street.

An existing one-story commercial building at 44 North Beacon Street would be demolished. 44 North Beacon Street is located steps from the 15.2-acre Boston Landing mixed-use development and its’ new commuter rail station. The Mount Vernon Company recently proposed to construct two buildings across from the proposed project site at 37 North Beacon Street containing 83 apartments and condominiums. A third mixed-use development, 31 North Beacon Street, is under construction across from both proposed buildings. BREC has filed a Letter of Intent (LOI) formally proposing the 44 North Beacon Street development with the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA), kicking off 44 North Beacon Street’s official review process.
