800-Unit Residential Tower Approved in Jersey City

The Jersey City Planning Board recently green-lit a 50-story, residential tower project, set for 20 Christopher Columbus Drive in Jersey City's Exchange Place neighborhood.

Developed by , and known as "Harborside 4", the building will contain units, offered in studio, one, and two-bedroom configurations. Plans also call for square feet of ground-floor retail space, a 27,000-square-foot health club, and a large, enclosed parking garage, with enough room for vehicles.

The building will feature several indoor and outdoor amenities for tenants, including a landscaped roof deck on the 9th floor, an outdoor pool on the 39th floor, and a bicycle storage area.

Designed by , the structure will stand feet tall and total square feet.

The project site spans square feet and is bound by Pearl Street to the north, Christopher Columbus Drive to the south, Hudson Street to the east, and Greene Street to the west. The property is currently used as a parking lot and no structural demolition will be required before the start of construction.
