5203 Center Boulevard Update 09/10/21

800 Unit Residential Tower Nearly Complete in LIC

A 56-story residential tower is rapidly closing in on completion at 5203 Center Boulevard in Long Island City, Queens. This building is part of the Hunters Point South development by TF Cornerstone and is planned to hold 800 housing units. Of those, 534 are designated to be affordable housing.

At this point, a vast majority of the facade has been installed, and from some angles, you'd be forgiven for thinking the tower was already finished. General contractor, 52-03 Center GC LLC, has now shifted most of its focus towards completing the interior floorplans.

The 587-foot tall tower was designed by ODA Architects, with SLCE Architects listed as the architect of record. In addition to housing, the 855,541 sqft structure will have room for community facilities, ground floor retail space, and a daycare center. Occupying the lower floors, there will also be a 572-seat, public grade school for K-8 students.

5203 Center Blvd is one of many towers under construction right now in the Hunter's Point section of Long Island City. Its sister building, 5241 Center Blvd (seen below, second from right), is another TF Cornerstone tower that was built for the Hunters Point South development. 5241 is complete, and many units are now being leased. Both towers sit directly across the street from Hunter's Point South Park, which offers a waterfront promenade, and gorgeous views of the Manhattan skyline. 5203 Center Blvd is scheduled to finish construction in early 2022.
