Affordable Housing Developer Receives $4 Million from City of St. Petersburg
Developer Blue Sky Communities will receive $4 million from the City of St. Petersburg for the construction of Bear Creek Commons, an 85-unit senior living community in south St. Petersburg. The money from the city will contribute to the total construction cost of $26 million. Blue Sky is adding 151 workforce housing units in St. Petersburg with Bear Creek Commons and the second phase of SkyWay lofts. The St. Petersburg City Council also approved $6.5 million for SkyWay Lofts. Bear Creek Commons, a four-story building located at 635 64th St. S., will offer 85 one and two-bedroom units to residents 55 years old and older. Blue Sky anticipates breaking ground in early 2023 with completion in late 2024.
