Affordable Housing Lottery Kicks Off for 15 Hanover Place
NYC Housing Connect has started an affordable housing lottery encompassing 95 units within a 34-story, mixed-use tower development, going up at 15 Hanover Place in Downtown Brooklyn. Eligible applicants must earn between $113,726 and $218,010 annually, or sit at 130% of the area median income (AMI). Applications will be accepted either online or by mail until August 23rd, 2024.
Developed by , and known as "Hanover House", the tower will offer rental apartments in total. This project is reportedly one of the last to be constructed under the Affordable New York 421a program; an initiative that expired on June 15th of 2022.
In addition to residential units, the building will have square feet of ground-floor retail space. Plans also call for an enclosed parking garage, with enough room for vehicles.
The new development replaces a 3-story commercial building that was demolished early in 2022. Spanning over 20,000 square feet, the lot is bound on three sides by Livingston Street, Hanover Place, and Grove Place. It's conveniently located just a quick walk away from the Dekalb Avenue and Hoyt-Schermerhorn subway stations.
Designed by , with serving as the general contractor, 15 Hanover Place stands feet tall and totals square feet.
