Arlington Plans to Purchase Portion of Park Shirlington Apartments
Arlington County plans to purchase a portion of the Park Shirlington apartments, with a nearly $28M deal expected to close this summer. Arlington will buy 105 of the 294 apartments within the 1950s era garden-style complex. Several versions of redevelopment plans for the community have not come to fruition leading the county to buy part of the site to preserve affordable housing. As part of the county's purchase agreement, they would be able to bring in a third-party affordable housing provider to the project.
