Art Deco Midtown Tower in Public Review
A massive art deco-style tower that will sit next to Grand Central Terminal is now in the public review stage. The RXR Realty development at 175 Park Avenue is a mixed-use office building that will stand 1,486 feet tall. It was designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill, and it will amass approximately 2.1 million square feet. The tower will also contain a hotel with 500 rooms.
To facilitate the project, applicant David Karnovsky has requested a zoning text amendment, special permits, certifications, and disposition of City-owned property. Manhattan's borough president is currently reviewing the proposal.
