Benderson Acquires Fort Myers Shopping Center

Adding to its significant Florida portfolio, Benderson Development has acquired Cypress Trace, a 280,000-square-foot grocery-anchored shopping center in Fort Myers.

Cypress Trace is a well-established retail destination located at the main intersection of US 41 and Daniels Parkway. The center occupies over 29 acres and features a diverse mix of national and local tenants, including Bealls Florida, Winn-Dixie, Five Below, Burlington and Ross Dress for Less.

Benderson owns several properties in Fort Myers, including Cypress Woods, Colonial Square and Shops at Village Walk, a collection of three adjacent sites that form a major retail hub along Six Mile Cypress Parkway near the Colonial Blvd. intersection.

“Cypress Trace represents an exciting opportunity for us to further invest in Fort Myers and enhance the shopping experience for residents,” said Randy Benderson, managing director of the family-owned real estate company. “This acquisition aligns with our expertise in revitalizing shopping centers and creating vibrant places to shop, dine and gather.”

This acquisition marks another step in Benderson’s ongoing growth strategy. Other recent acquisitions in Florida include Carillon Place, a 250,000-square-foot open-air shopping center in Naples; North River Marketplace, a 51-acre development site in Venice; Glengary Shoppes in Sarasota; and Linton Commons in Delray Beach.
