BGI Now Planning Lab Space at 401 Congress
In a letter submitted to the BPDA, BGI and their development partners have given notice that they seek to modify the development program from primarily office use to office and lab ready space for the 401 Congress project. Citing the pandemic as a need for this adjustment the tower would still include a Great Hall on the first 2 floors but feature lab-ready space on floors 3-9 with floors 10-16 still featuring office space. Given the addition of lab space, the 17th floor would now include a mechanical penthouse and the square footage decreased from 555K to 518K.
