BioMed Realty to Acquire Seaport Life Science Development

BioMed Realty announced the acquisition of 601 Congress in the Seaport, providing the company a compelling life science conversion opportunity. The 482,000 SF life science/lab complex previously served as the headquarters for John Hancock and the converted building will be delivered in the second half of 2022.

“Boston’s Seaport District is an established life science market with proximity to top-tier research and education institutions in Boston and Cambridge, including Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Boston Children’s Hospital" Colleen O’Connor, Vice President of BioMed Realty told BLDUP.  "Making the Seaport an ideal location for BioMed as we continue to see a heightened demand for lab space."
