Local locksmith acquires 7,966 square foot Allston parcel for $1.8 million


Last Wednesday, June 29th, 2016, local locksmith David Stoia, owner of Boston Lock and Safe Company, acquired the 7,966 square foot parcel at 445 Cambridge Street in Allston for $1.8 million as recorded in the Suffolk County Registry of Deeds. A 5,512 square foot commercial building home to Michael J. Hynes Auto Repair stands on the parcel. 445 Cambridge Street was last acquired in April 2011 for $825K by Michael J. Hynes. A mixed-use building recently approved for construction, 450 Cambridge Street, will be located across from 445 Cambridge Street. 450 Cambridge Street will feature 40 residential rental units and 1,630 square feet of ground-floor retail.


David Stoia, 445 Cambridge Street's acquirer, owns two parcels on Allston's Western Avenue and is quoted in a recent Boston Globe article that delves into recent real estate development in Allston. Speaking to Allston development, Stoia says “every week, I get calls from developers wanting to know if I’m willing to sell, but I tell them I’m not interested. I want to hang on to the properties for a while and see what happens.”
