BLDG 89 Update 01/17/17

Revisions approved to BLDG 89 workforce housing development in Allston

Changes to the approved BLDG 89 workforce housing and retail development in Allston near Packard’s Corner were approved at last Thursday (January 12th)’s Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA) Board Meeting. In response to official feedback, the revised project will move forward with 129 residential apartments and approximately 7,500 square feet of retail. On-site parking has been increased to 79 spaces from previously approved 69, and the building’s sixth floor will be set back 10 feet from Brighton Avenue in response to height concerns. No more than one third of apartments at BLDG 89 will be leased to undergraduate students at once.
