Suffolk Construction hosts Virtual Groundbreaking for headquarters expansion
Suffolk Construction hosted a Virtual Groundbreaking ceremony yesterday (September 29th, 2016) for the $22 million, 38,000 square foot expansion of the company's existing Roxbury headquarters. No real dirt was moved at the ceremony; instead, per a Boston Globe report, officials donned headsets and hoisted virtual dirt with a virtual shovel. A video simulation of Suffolk Construction's future headquarters was projected behind the officials; with each virtual shovel scoop, a new section of the headquarters was projected, from foundation to finishes, until the full building was virtually complete.
