New North End gateway retail building proposed
The Boston Herald reports that Charter Realty & Development is proposing to construct a new two-story building featuring four retail spaces at the gateway to the North End. Three retail spaces would include an interior mezzanine level. Located on Cross Street between Hanover and Salem Streets, the new building would overlook the Rose Kennedy Greenway. An existing single-story building on which stands a billboard and an adjacent four-story apartment building would be demolished.
