Boston’s building boom has created several distinctive penthouse residences perched high above the City, both built from the ground up and crafted from preserved historic buildings. These new penthouses showcase the highest level of modern luxury and, standing at the top of Boston’s newest luxury buildings, feature sweeping, unparalleled views of the Boston skyline, Boston Harbor and the Greater Boston area. Below is a selection of five of Boston’s most exquisite new-construction penthouse condominium residences:


One Dalton

Well on its’ way to becoming the Back Bay and Boston’s third-tallest tower, the 61-story One Dalton will feature 180 exclusive condominium residences atop a 215-room Four Seasons Hotel. On the tower’s 55th to 59th floors will be Penthouse Flats, graced with natural light, skyline views and private balconies. Across the tower’s top two floors will be three two-story Penthouse Estates, which will each feature amenities such as cascading staircases, bathrooms featuring soaring ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows throughout and a double-height terrace complete with outdoor fireplaces.


One Dalton’s Penthouse Estates will be approximately 7,300 square feet in size across two stories, in addition to the 570-square-foot outdoor terrace. Two Penthouse Estates are reportedly under agreement, including one sold to Dell Technologies Chairman & CEO Michael Dell and one reportedly under agreement for about $40 million, which would be Boston’s most expensive condominium sale in history. A third Estate is listed for sale for $40 million.


Penthouse Estates at One Dalton will feature solid mahogany doors and American walnut plank floors, with master suites including private balconies and bathrooms featuring heated glazed marble floors, Dornbracht fixtures, oversized showers with marble floors and walls and a freestanding soaking tub. Penthouse Estate kitchens will feature Blue de Savoie polished marble countertops and backsplashes paired with custom designed SieMatic cabinets. Additional One Dalton resident amenities will include a 50th floor private residents’ club designed by Thierry Despont, a spa, an indoor lap pool and a golf simulator.

Millennium Tower

Set within a restored 1920s apartment building, The Lydon features sweeping views of the Charles River and the downtown skyline. Penthouses will range from 3,750 to 4,100 square feet, and are on sale starting at $5.75 million.

The Lucas

Recently completed and fully sold out prior to opening, The Lucas is the South End’s newest new-construction boutique condominium building, featuring 33 luxury residences set within the fully restored historic German Trinity Catholic Church. The Lucas’ two three-bedroom/three-and-a-half-bathroom penthouses, each over 2,600 square feet in size, feature private roof decks overlooking the Boston skyline and the South End, in addition to a second private terrace. One penthouse recently sold for $3.6 million, and the other, listed for sale for $3.8 million, is under agreement. Additional amenities include floor-to-ceiling windows, sweeping ceilings, direct elevator access, custom kitchens and gas fireplaces. The Lucas features communal resident amenity spaces such as a fitness area, a common courtyard, a library and a lounge. Garage parking is also located on site.
