Boston University completes new Center for Integrated Life Sciences & Engineering

Work is now complete at Boston University (BU)’s new $150 million Center for Integrated Life Sciences and Engineering (CILSE), and the brand-new 173,750-square-foot building is ready to host classes and breakthrough research projects. The nine-story, state-of-the-art CILSE features lab spaces, meeting rooms and common areas for BU’s students, researchers and professors, aiming to sustain collaborative, interdisciplinary research. The new building features a distinctive facade comprised of glass unitized curtain wall and glass fiber reinforced concrete fins, giving the building a striking, transparent, 21st-century presence along Commonwealth Avenue while integrating with BU’s surrounding existing limestone buildings.
