Brooklyn Brewery Announces Move to Upcoming Greenpoint Development

Brooklyn Brewery has announced that it will be leaving its original Williamsburg facility in 2024 and relocating its flagship location just 4-blocks away to a new commercial building, set to rise at 1 Wythe Avenue in Greenpoint.

According to the brewery's CEO, Eric Ottaway, the company will occupy 41,000 square feet inside the recently approved, 8-story development, spanning the first and fourth floors, as well as the basement. This will consist of a taproom, a brewing facility, corporate offices, and an area for product research. For Brooklyn Brewery, this means more room to grow, with an 11,000-square-foot increase over its current digs in Williamsburg.

Developed by Schlomo Karpen, president of , 1 Wythe Avenue is set to contain square feet of office and retail space. Plans also call for 29,630 square feet of light manufacturing space.

Designed by Archimaera Architecture, with StudiosC serving as the architect of record, the structure will stand feet tall and total square feet altogether.

The triangular project site, bound by Wythe Avenue, North 15th Street, and Banker Street, was just rezoned back in February as part of an Industrial Business Incentive Area (IBIA) within the Greenpoint-Williamsburg Industrial Business Zone.

Karpen purchased the property under the name, One Wythe LLC, back in October of 2018 for $15.3 million. In May of this year, just a few months after the lot's rezoning, G4 Capital Partners provided a $55 million loan that will go directly towards the construction of the new development. At this time, all structures have been demolished, with work expected to commence in the next couple of months. Brooklyn Brewery's new location will likely debut in the Summer of 2024.
