Callahan Continues Work on Cooper Street Apartments

Located on a four-acre lot situated between Cooper and Elm Streets and abutting the Charles River, Callahan Construction Management is constructing the Waltham-based Cooper Street Apartments. The building is a 397,927 square-foot, Type 3A, five-story wood frame structure with 264 units, offering residents a fitness center, lounge, and an outdoor swimming pool. There are 68 walk-out balconies and 53 Juliet balconies with glass sliding doors. The facade of the building will be comprised of multiple materials including fiber cement siding, brick, metal panels, aluminum storefront as well as vinyl & aluminum windows. The Cooper Street Apartments construction is scheduled to last nineteen months, with final completion and turnover planned for December 31st, 2019.

 The project is divided into two Phases: Phase 1 consists of the turnover of the garage, the Amenity area and 139 units in roughly nineteen months. The amenity area and model unit are turned over 7 weeks prior to the rest of Phase 1. Phase 2 represents substantial completion of the remaining 138 units and the landscaping and River Walk area.
