Community Board Reviews 6-Story Whitestone Mixed-Use Proposal
The Community Board is now reviewing an application proposing a 6-story, mixed-use development, at 122-03 14th Avenue in Whitestone, Queens. This marks the start of the public review process. Submitted by , under the name "Northern 167 Property LLC", the application is requesting a zoning map amendment and a zoning text amendment in order to establish a Mandatory Inclusionary Housing (MIH) area, which will be necessary in order to facilitate the project.
The proposed, foot tall, square foot building, would contain rental apartments, with approximately 31 units to be dedicated to affordable housing. It would also feature square feet of ground floor retail space, and an enclosed parking garage, with enough room for vehicles.
The proposed project site comprises two neighboring lots, spanning square feet combined. It has frontages on College Point Boulevard, 14th Avenue, and 123rd Street. Two low-rise commercial buildings that currently occupy the properties would have to be demolished if the project is approved and proceeds.
