Concrete Rises Above Cofferdam at 400 Lake Shore
The North Tower's concrete core at 400 Lake Shore has now risen above the massive hole of the famous cofferdam at the former Chicago Spire waterfront site, a skyscraper development that was cancelled in 2008. The North Tower will rise 72 stories and include 635 rental units. DuSable Park will also be built out as part of the North Tower's first phase, a collaboration planned between developer Related Midwest and the Chicago Park District. Phase two will see the construction of a second tower that will have 1000 new condominiums.
