Construction of Mixed-Use Development in Dunedin Delayed
Construction of Eastern Gateway, a new mixed-use development in Dunedin, has been pushed back about six months, according to the developer Kokolakis Contracting. The plan was to begin construction in November 2022, the new timeline is to start construction in Spring 2023. The developer cited permitting issues as the cause for the delay. The development include 90 apartments, 79 hotel rooms and retail stores. Renderings indicate that the hotel, apartments and retail will be contained in multiple four-story buildings. The residential component, Artisan House, will offer one to three-bedroom apartments. The 4.3-acre site will offer 120 parking spaces. Completion is expected to take approximately 24 months, which would place completion in Spring 2025.
