Construction plans for $181M VCU Arts & Innovation Building get approved
The General Assembly recently gave the thumbs up for constructing the new VCU Arts and Innovation building downtown. The new structure will be across the street from the Institute for Contemporary Art at VCU at Broad and Belvidere St intersection and will teach students about the world of new and emerging industries. The building will feature flexible classroom spaces, interdisciplinary performance venues and makerspaces for rapidly growing partnerships across arts, business, humanities and sciences, medicine and engineering. Construction is expected to start in 2023 and be completed by 2026.
