27-49 Jackson Avenue Update 10/04/21

Construction Resumes on LIC Residential Project

Work on a 14-story tower at 27-49 Jackson Avenue in Long Island City is finally resuming after a two-year hiatus. Lions Group ii LLC began construction on the residential structure in the summer of 2018, but progress was halted in the fall of 2019 due to a stop-work order issued by the NYC Department of Buildings. The stop-work was finally rescinded on August 16th, and DHC Contracting Inc has since taken over as the general contractor.

Developed by ARCFE, 27-49 Jackson will contain almost 30,000 sqft of residential space distributed among 37 housing units. The building will also boast around 1,700 sqft of commercial space, likely on the ground floor and designated for retail use.

Designed by architect, Raymond Chan, the structure will stand 146 feet tall, and wear a sleek blue facade; an aesthetic choice that will blend nicely with the new Aloft Hotel next door, and the trendy modern style of the surrounding neighborhood. It's unclear when construction is expected to finish, but with contractors back on site again, at least that date is actually getting closer.
